The clinic is closed for the summer. The clinic will reopen in September. Check website for updates.

99 Bernard Street West, no appointment necessary. First come, first served.

The Mile End Legal Clinic is a network of Montreal lawyers and law students dedicated to making justice more accessible to citizens of our city. We believe that no one should have to face a legal problem without the knowledge they need to protect and assert their rights.

The Mile End Legal Clinic is a part of the McGill Legal Clinic Course.

Since its beginnings in 2002, the Mile End Legal Clinic has helped a great number of people obtain justice by informing them of their rights and by supporting them through the judicial process. You can learn more about some of the Clinic’s past cases and the services it offers by visiting the Stories page.

The Clinic offers consultations on an individual basis with lawyers and law students to people who need legal information but whose financial resources do not allow them to pay for a lawyer. No appointments necessary. The Clinic’s jurists can accompany clients as they go through legal proceedings as well as to meetings with Legal Aid lawyers.

Though the Clinic’s services are free of charge, donations are welcome.

WE GOT IT!

On July 22, 2009 the Mile End Legal Clinic's application to be registered as a charitable organization under the federal Income Tax Act was approved.

We can now issue tax receipts to donors and are exploring financing possibilities to ensure that we can continue contributing to the public good by alleviating poverty and promoting access to justice.
