
Who We Are
Barbara Cuber
Jurist
Barbara is a recent graduate of McGill University’s Faculty of Law, with degrees in civil and common law. She completed the Legal Information Clinic course at the Mile End Legal Clinic in 2005-2006 and continues to be involved. Barbara has co-authored articles on environmental law and access to justice and has volunteered with several Montreal social justice groups. She will begin her Quebec Bar studies in 2007.
Me Geeta Narang - Co-founder and Director
Geeta is a member of the Quebec Bar. She practices law at Franklin Gertler & Associates. She completed the McGill Legal Information Clinic at Dans la rue, providing legal information to the city’s homeless youth. She also acted as Coordinator of Legal Services at Head & Hands, an organization serving Montreal youth.
Geeta is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and sits on the Quebec division’s Equality Committee.
Before coming to law, Geeta taught high school in Val d’Or. She lives in the neighbourhood in a house full of children.
Jennifer Ross-Jones
Jennifer Ross-Jones is a third year student at McGill’s Faculty of Law, with a previous B.A. in Environmental Studies. She is currently completing her Legal Clinic Course at the Mile End Legal Clinic. Jennifer is a ‘Project Coordinator’ at the Centre for International SustainanedDevelopment Law, and Network Investigator with ArcticNet. She is also a research assistant at the Faculty of Law, currently researching aboriginal governance and adaptation to climate change issues in the Arctic.
Me Colin Irving
Program AdvisorMe Irving has been a member of the Bar of Quebec since 1959 and the Bar of Ontario since 1981. He currently practices law at Irving Mitchell & Associates. He has lectured at McGill University’s Faculty of Law, published articles on various legal topics and argued constitutional cases at the Supreme Court of Canada. Me Irving was recently involved in one of the cases arguing for the recognition of same sex marriages.
As well as having a long and illustrious legal career, Me Irving has remained involved in his community with organizations such as the Tyndale Saint-Georges Center.
Mr. Wynn Rimstad - Program Advisor
Mr. Rimstad is a chartered accountant who worked in corporate finance and financial management for four decades. He is still involved in pension plan committees.
Now retired, Mr. Rimstad and his wife travel the world. They have backpacked through Morocco, South East Asia and South America. They are committed environmentalists who live in the Plateau, do not own a car and walk wherever they go.
